Back in Belgium

Zo, terug in het land na een heerlijke Tango-tijd in Frankrijk en Venetie. Blij om de beestjes terug te vinden in prima gezondheid. Quicksken heeft me met luid gehinnik verwelkomd en dat deed deugd. De wond is helemaal genezen, nog een piepklein vlekje en dat zal zo verdwenen zijn. Nu dus volop weer Liberty trainen en daar wordt hij steeds beter in.

KISS and TANGO

Zo, mijn keuze is gevallen op het herlezen van Kiss & Tango tijdens de treinreis, het sexy hilarische avontuur van Marina Palmer in Buenos Aires. Passend voor de Valentijn-periode en natuurlijk de tango-avonturen die in het verschiet liggen.
De wonde van Quick is fantastisch snel en mooi aan het genezen, dank zij mijn schietgebedje aan de paardengodin Epona en mijn zelfgemaakte wondolie naar een aloud heksenrecept van mijn meter. Simpele olijfolie waarin goudsbloemen, wondklaver, heemst en weegbree hebben getrokken voor een zestal-weken.

Yppiie, the tickets for Cavalia Belgium 2008 at Knokke Heist for the period of august for the family and me have arrived straight from Barcelona where the show is running for the moment. Bravo for the Cavalia Administration team and the fast Spanish mail. This is probably be their last show in Belgium for a long time as this will be the 3rd tour in 2 years in Belgium. The rest of the world is going mad with Cavalia's addiction to Belgium. Lucky for me and all the horse-lovers in this tiny country however. Now waiting for 6 months to see them back.
Quick has injured himself on his head, nothing serious, just a bit of flesh out of his skull but in an awkward place as just touching his bridle. That means rest and that gives us some spare time to go dancing in Paris on Valentine.
I should take at least one book with me though. But which one???? HUNDREDS to choose from.

Ode aan Oilsjt

Zo het karnaval van Aalst zit er weer op voor een jaartje en deze keer heb ik het heel rustig gehouden. Het was me iets te koud en soms te nat om buiten al te veel de zottin uit te hangen. Dat neemt niet weg dat Aalst nog steeds mijn hart geeft gestolen. Het is een fantastische stad, niet te groot, niet te klein, en er gebeurt altijd wel wat. Heerlijk...

Captain John

Well, as promised, the encounter between Captain Jack and Captain John in the first episode of Torchwood's second season yesterday evening on the BBC2 channel was very explosive and sexy. James Marsters as the swaggering vilain Captain John, another Time-Agent, was once again cast in a part where he is evil and adorable at the same time. From evil vampire to a vampire with a soul in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" to a kinky murdering thieving sexy bastard you love to hate.
The Sergio Leone-like barfight and the violent passionate kiss right after shared between John and Jack rocked. Torchwood really is the late-night spin-off from the Dr. Who series. Much more adult and violent and it is clear that the people behind the show worked on Buffy and Angel as well. I imagine that lots of Torchwood viewers will expect and even demand that Captain John will become a returning character. In any case the ending of this episode promises more of Captain John. Looking forward to see more interaction between John and Jack.

Paardenplezier

2 dagen heerlijk met Quick gewerkt aan de kleuren rood en blauw. Slimme jongen, heb er deze ochtend een bal aan toegevoegd en dat was duidelijk iets nieuws voor hem.
Aan het lezen: "Grave Secrets" van Kathy Reichs, haar 5de Temperance Brennan boek, nog altijd super goed.
Aan het luisteren naar: "Amarantine" van Enya.

Tango

I have been dreaming a great dream last night. Tango, tango and even more tango.
No wonder I woke up tired. I can't wait for C. to come over. We have to practice our dancing and anyway I like to try on those new panties. Expensive ones but oh so wicked!

Back Online!

Oef, eindelijk is mijn nieuwe Laptop gearriveerd en geinstalleerd. Een supermachientje die hopelijk een tijdje zal meegaan.
Ondertussen ben ik grandioos aan het genieten van de vrije tijd en spendeer dus heel wat Quality-time met paard en poes. Binnenkort komt mijn ander knuffelbeertje ook over uit de States en dan wordt dat weer een paar daagjes London of Paris.
Gisteren de wagen binnen gedaan voor groot onderhoud en klaarzetten voor de schouwing. Toen ik het bakje ging ophalen was hij al geschouwd en alles en zonder enige grote kosten. Mijn neef is een bijou, dank u.

Thuis

Zo, de job zit erop voor het moment. Jammer voor het bedrijf en de collega's die ik nu al mis. Courage daar meisjes in jullie 'piepkleine' bureel. Onze apen hebben tenminste een plekje gevonden aan het raam als tochtstoppers.
Net uitgelezen: "The End of Mr. Y" door Scarlett Thomas, een uiterst intelligent en verrassend boek. Ik ga dus op zoek naar meer schrijfsels van haar.
In de eerste plaats ga ik nu op zoek naar een nieuwe PC met een snelle internet-verbinding want mijn bakje en dial-up thuis is een ramp geworden om foto's op mijn blog te krijgen. Die is dus dringend aan vervanging toe.

Stormachtig

Het waait verschrikkelijk voor het moment boven Brussel, dus dat voelt aan als Gejaagd door de wind.
Net uitgelezen: "Piercing" van Ryu Murakami. Een typisch staaltje van Japanse geflipte decadentie met een al even verrasende wending en einde.
Vannacht heel wat rare dromen gehad. Een over Quick en de laatste droom was over Kim, mijn collega en ik die naar een voordracht gingen bij de Dalai Lama en waar we heel lekker macro-biotisch gegeten hebben. Ik kon die gerechten als het ware ruiken in mijn droom, yam yam. Die droom over de Dalai Lama is waarschijnlijk het gevolg van het artikel in de krant die ik gisteren gelezen heb waarin de Lama zei dat hij bereid was om in een volgend leven te reincarneren in de vorm van een vrouw. De volgende Dalai Lama wordt dus een Vrouw! Toch een spirituele wereldleider die er zich van bewust is dat de tijd van de Godin is aangebroken.

Atlantis

OK, I am at the end of season 2 of Stargate Atlantis and will start viewing season 3 tomorrow. I am realy getting into the story by now and yes, I like it.
We had a lovely evening Friday at the Strootjes for the birthday of Krolleken (thanks again, ladies) and we are (all the staff at my office) getting over the bad news for the office. Hope we will get some clarification soon with the Unions.

Star Trek

Aan het lezen: "Before Dishonor" een Star Trek boek door Peter David. Een ongelooflijk goed boek waarin Adminral Kathryn Janeway de nieuwe "Borg Queen" wordt en waar Seven Of Nine, Spock en Jean-Luc Picard samenwerken om haar te....moet ik nog verder lezen.
Een ongelooflijk logisch paar Spock en Seven of Nine.

Frida

I had a very strange dream last night. I was dreaming I was walking around dressed like Frida Kahlo. Probably because I have been re-reading her diary lately, a thing of terrible beauty.
Well, in any case I will have the opportunity to dress like I want in the near future for some time and I do have a lot of ethnic jewelry...just need to let grow my whiskers now...

Devoted the entire weekend to my pets:
Saturday did some shopping and in the afternoon finished reading Fatal Voyage with the cat on my lap.
Sunday was completely for my sweetheart Quick Star. He's definitely a great horse, lots of spirit and wild as can be for a tamed horse but oh so sweet natured.
I really made a good deal in buying him. But the most important thing is that he really seems to love me as much as I love him.

Resistance

Just finished reading: Star Trek TNG-book: "Resistance" by J.M. Dillard.
A truly good book where Jean-Luc becomes once again 'Locutus' of Borg in order to save Humanity.
Weekend is coming and I really need some new plants for the winter-balcony. Think I will go for a mixture of white and purple heather...

Easy going

All I need lately is coffee or tea and my horse.
Still in the office in Brussels, arranging the archives and collecting my personal stuff. Just one more month to go and I'm free...
Last night I woke up suddenly at 2.00 o'clock in the night and as it seemed I would not get tired fast, I just watched some episodes of Stargate Atlantis. Not as good as Star Trek but still interesting. Should purchase all 3 years.

3. en om Middernacht het grootse feest in de Aalsterse Standaard Boekhandel met attracties van jongleurs en vuurspuwers bij het verschijnen van de allerlaatste HP in het Nederlands.
Vuurspuwers in een boekenwinkel, dat kan leuk worden....

Luscious Lucius

Yesterday I saw 3 Yule trees in a shop window made up as if they belonged in the Malfoy Manor. They were huge trees covered with fake snow and filled with white shining stars and balls and… white peacocks… Certainly the people who conceived the whole thing must have read Deadly Hallows. Last night I had a vivid dream about darling Lucius, yummy… and yes, today DVD of HP 5 appears. Life can be beautiful now and then.

Booth & Tempe

Finally, 2nd season of BONES has begun yesterday on our commercial channel Kanaal 2, almost at the same time that the DVD-box will appear in the stores, am I living in a medieval country or not? Love to see this great series with great actors.
Meanwhile I'm reading Kathy Reichs 3rd novel in her Temperance Brennan books: "Deadly Decisions". I really love her writing. Not only scientificly very detailed but also very funny.

Methos and McCleod

Yes, I know this picture of Peter Wingfield is from the series Queen of Swords, but it could just be a picture from Highlander as well. I got year 3 from Higlander on DVD and as it was raining cats and dogs this weekend, all I did was watching some episodes. Not the best year in the series, but still great as this is the year that Methos appears in the storyline. Magnificent to watch whatever this guy does. I hope I can get the remaining years from Germany in the near future as this seems to be the only country in Europe who produces the entire series in the original English-spoken version.
Anyway, I loved watching Duncan McCleod and Joe and Methos ("It's good to be a Myth")with the cat in my lap. I should download some Highlander fanfiction from various sites, after all I guess I will have plenty of time to catch up on my fanfiction-reading.

Stormy weather

Stormy weather in Belgium: rain and wind and falling leaves. I think tonight I will just crawl in the lap of Mylord Malfoy and taste some good wine or rather a good glass of cognac. That should keep me warm, no?

De bladeren beginnen nu goed te vallen. De herfst heeft zijn intrede gedaan, een heerlijk kleurenpalet schilderend in de natuur... Je zou mijn Momiji-esdoorn bonsai eens moeten zien. De kleuren zijn prachtig.

Carlos

Gisteravond mijn nieuwe dubbel-CD van Carlos Gardel beluistert. Opnames van de jaren 1924-1935. Heerlijke tango's. Die man is al meer dan 70 jaar dood maar hij zingt met de tijd inderdaad steeds beter!! Geen wonder dat hij een levende legende is in Argentina.

Buffy

Net op het moment dat ik van plan was om de hele "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" te herbekijken op DVD, herhaalt Kanaal 2 de hele reeks vanaf deze week. Wel iets te vroeg op de avond voor mij maar binnen 2 maand haal ik dat wel in. Heerlijk genieten dus weer van mijn favoriete Slayer Buffy en haar vriendin de heks Willow. Om natuurlijk David Boreanaz en James Marsters niet te vergeten: die twee zijn altijd Yummie Yummie.
Aan het lezen: "Death du Jour" van Kathy Reichs. Het 2de boek in de Temperance Brennan reeks waar het feuilleton "Bones" is op gebaseerd. Het 1ste boek was keigoed dus kijk ik uit naar de hele reeks.
Muziek: Tango en Milonga (moest ik geen dieren hebben dan zou ik waarschijnlijk een lange reis naar Buenos Aires plannen om in de Tango wereld onder te duiken. Maar nee dus, poes en paard gaan voor.) Ook niet echt de periode om C. te vervoegen met die branden en aardbevingen in LA. Gelukkig is het huis van mijn ventje niet getroffen door de vuurzee, al heeft het niet veel gescheeld.

Yesterday one free day spent at home and so happy to be there. Reading and listening to music with the cat on my lap.
If this is the way I will spend some time in 2008 I'm looking forward to it.
