Tomorrow half a day of leave just to go shopping for books and DVD's. But also going to have a first look at the Cavalia Site at Thurn & Taxis in Brussels. Saturday is the big day...
Just finished reading: The Pillowbook of Lady Wisteria by Laura Joh Rowland, another fine book in the Sano-murder mystery series.

SPRING IN THE CITY

Youppie, good news today: my sister-in-law Magda returns home from a brief visit to the clinic and she should be doing well now...
Spring has finally arrived in Brussels, so I went walking the Avenue Louise at midday (just strolling, no, not Shopping, I am in control of my finances today at least)
Friday afternoon I will definitely go shopping for DVD's or books and Saturday finally the Cavalia show... can't wait for that.

Mood: Gothic Romantic so therefor this lovely poem I found somewhere...

Chaste, and white as marble,
Unmoving, unmoved by my ardour,
The sculpted twist of her lips,
With blood-black forest fruit slicked,
I fear once more my heart lies,
This moment bleeds between us, it slowly dies,
Is one bitter kiss worth the tears?
Is it worth the memory that haunts the ever marching years?
Is it worth all the ink and wine I would waste,
In vain toil to regain that unforgettable taste?
This is the poisoned price of desire,
Casting eternal fuel upon the coldest fire,

Yet I bow down my head,
My heart strangled with dread,
My hand beneath her delicate chin,
I draw my breath in,
I tilt her marble face toward mine,
The lashes of her eyes, divine,
Our lips meet like fire and ice,
Even the coldest kiss is worth the price.

ICHIBAN
